5G Conspiracy, Misogyny and Downstream Stupidity

By Bamidele Ademola-Olateju I wasted 24 minutes of my life yesterday on a voice note making the rounds. I ignored it at first because I don't listen to voice notes. I have been threatened through one before. One guy even thought he can command me to do myself harm but he picked the wrong target. Later, I had to listen to this one because I got it from so many people, I lost count. The Kunle who mentioned himself and later plead for his identity to be protected went from Trump is the savior of the world trope, 5G will kill us with radiation, cancer, death by evaporated blood, to the mark of the beast 666, to a democratic president and a woman vice president of the United States, who will be the antichrist. What a world we live in! This conspiracy did not provoke laughter. It looks to me as the consequence of dumbness and downstream stupidity, we must protect the world from. I feel insulted by the sharing these things gets in our information ecology. This guy packaged inf...

Submissions of three professors of radiation physics in UI copied from Science Faculty platform to debunk the narratives in the trending audio on 5G

Dr Popoola The man who made this audio message can be likened to someone who is interpreting a strange language he has never studied. He does not know what he's saying. In a simple language, the so called 5G (fifth generation) is a transmission at far higher frequency range than 4G. This feature implies  transmission of greater quantum of energy (signal) per time, hence heavy data (such  as images)  will  download faster and will be transmitted at higher resolution. Meanwhile this may require more booster antennas  at closer ranges in order to travel very far because high frequency signals get attenuated faster than low frequency signals. In short 5G will be able to accommodate larger  data than 4G. 5g Generally, people have always displayed some fear each time a new technology arose. The fear attributed to mobile technology is that the signals (waves) are injurious to humans. Meanwhile all mobile signals most  fall within microwaves (extre...
